India's history goes back at least five thousand years, making it one of the oldest cultures of the world. Fortunes are reflected in the infinite variety of its monuments- forts, palaces, temples and mausolea.
Its variations in topography and climate make the hundreds of interesting destinations: the scenic hill stations, the old deserts of ladakh, the green valleys of Himachal the rain forests of the North East, the desert regions of Rajasthan the extensive sun-drenched beaches, the wild sanctuaries.
The Indian tradition of hospitality together with the variety of destinations and a well develope tourist infrastructure make India an ideal venture for holidays, business meetings and conventions.
There is a fairy-tale quality about the mountain state of Himachal Pardesh, with its beautiful valleys and the mysterious snow-clad Himalyan peaks. The lower valleys of kullu, chamba and kangra are green. In marked contrast is the stark splendour of the lahaul and spiti valleys. For the visitor, there are marvellous opportunities for mountaineering, trekking and fishing.
